I know this comes across as ridiculous but what other country has primary schools which:
1. Make children write in pencil until their handwriting is 'good enough' then issues them with a 'pen licence' allowing them to write with a pen.
2. Uses the Berol Handwriting Pens. Which many children find uncomfortable and difficult to use.
3. Prohibits children from writing, or doing homework, with a biro pen.
There are times when I think that large numbers of primary school teachers have their heads up their backsides and perpetuate bizarre and peculiarly British cultural practises from one generation to the next....
