Hi, one of my 13 year old twins is frequently refusing (mainstream) school. I have read all around this topic and it seems that for the most part, the school are trying to adress all of the issues (which are not always obvious) and I am in constant contact with them. I think what I would like to know more than anything is which agencies are well-placed to help us with this? We already see a clinical psychologist who is taking a very softly softly approach to helping my son be able to cope, and he has been referred to Autism Outreach through school but they are not directly involved yet.
Also, any strategies to cope on a day to day basis would be helpful. I have been riding this emotional rollercoaster for too long now with the two boys and the ongoing battles with the authorities etc. I know there are many of you who are i the same position and I do have a good local support network of friends who are sympathetic, but feel I might need more at the moment.
