Keeping my child back a year - Mainstream

Hi, 

Hope that someone can help!!! I am considering keeping my little girl back a year in school, I feel it would give her an extra year for her language and understanding skills to develop. Has anyone been through this process?

  • it was the schools suggestion that he stayed back, he was been re statemented at the time, we were looking for more hours of 1 to 1 care, The Educational psychologist   agreed it would be best, apparently it will be when he is in p6 (i'm in N Ireland here they leave primary after year 7) that the request will have to be made to allow him to remain in primary school another year
