Hi,
I've made this profile because I need some advice and after a conversation I had with an ex-colleague. She has recently moved to work in a school who cater for autistic children aged 2-11. We happened to bump into each other and she was talking of her new job. She proceeded to get out an iPad and show me pictures of the children. She made many disrespectful remarks about a handful of the children labelling one as grossly obese and fat saying "I can't even pick up this fat child look how fat he is" etc. She then showed me a picture of a boy she labeled as a "spitter". Being curious in the profession she had chosen I asked how the school handles challenging behaviour and she said they aren't meant to but they spray them with a water bottle. Surely that isn't allowed?
Myself being a 19 year old and having no previous experience with autism, I don't really know what to do. I'm sure she wasn't even meant to be showing me pictures of the children let alone make comments as she did.
I just need advice as what to do or who to report her to if I should?
Thanks for any replies in advance.
