Another School Exclusion - Frustrated!!!

My son has just had another exclusion from school due to his behaviour and this is the 2nd time he has been exluded!!He is in a mainstream school and we are waiting for the school to employ a 1:1 TA with special needs experience for him which was decided he needed this assistance after his last exclusion in July. Each time that there has been excluded a supply teacher has been in charge of the class and I question whether his IBP has been followed. I am so frustrated by these exclusion as my son doesnt understand them and they are pointless as all he sees is him getting a couple of days off school!

Has anyone else experinced their child being excluded from school for a few days for their behaviours?? Just need advice and support as feel like my parenting skills are being questions as they always ask if had a bad morning, did he eat anything different etc?? Then the guilt set in could I have done somthing to prevent these behaviours etc!!

  • I'm failing to understand why, when the school acknowledges that the problems are arising from your sons Autism as shown by   "we are waiting for the school to employ a 1:1 TA with special needs experience for him which was decided he needed this assistance after his last exclusion in July", they consider it appropriate to punish your son for any incedent.

Further the pattern of difficuty arising in times of teacher substitution strongly indicates to me that the subs inexperience/incompetance or lack of proper motivation are the precipitating factors here...the regular teachers have not found it necessary to exclude your son...

Have you registered some kind of objection?
