Gender identity

Hello first of all thanku for letting me join this community I have fought this year to get my adult son assessed for autism it has now bn confirmed after his first session last week that he is high spectrum autistic which I am very very grateful for this. In primary the teachers thought it too but I refused to believe it he is now 21 and it has bn confirmed that he is my question I want to ask is that he has a gender identity in which he feels different ie: You know were this is going can anyone else relate thanks

  • I think you're doing extremely well, it can be overwhelming for yourselves too, but the fact you're here asking questions shows you are on the right track! For me it was a sibling, and I think my parents were the ones that found it hardest but we're still very accepting, just they kept on making mistakes with the pronouns more than the rest of us. My kids were small and got the change immediately. The main thing is moving forward together as a family, and it's lovely to see you supporting them and figuring it out together!

  • Thankyou so much for your kind words Heart️ I love my son very much her/she and I will stand by him and we will go through this journey together like said this is very overwhelming the autism the gender dysphoria but thank you
