I’m just wondering if anyone else can relate. My 13 year old son likes to eat with his fingers. I am constantly reminding him to use his knife and fork. Can anyone else relate to this?

As long as his hands and nails are clean it shouldn't be a problem.
When i was younger I often ate with my fingers, my family was strange. I was in my twenties when people at college became concerned about my eating habits. I held a knife and fork properly and ate with my fingers at the same time. In fact the metal cutlery was unused while I ate.
These are mostly the reasons for me and my siblings preferring eating food with hands. It’s kind of difficult to use cutlery, and all of us are picky so having touch gives another way to inspect the food (like if a strawberry is too squishy). Then my sister especially hates the sound of metal so we use plastic.
I can also imagine maybe it being sensory seeking?
