I've made a deliberate effort to slow down my eating speed, to chew everything properly, it's made my digestion much better and I'm eating less because of it as I know when I'm full. I no longer drink alcohol, but I am a thirsty person so I do drink quite a lot. I think I used to drink alcohol faster because I nearly always had it whilst out socialising and it created a sort of screen. But I didn't drink as much if I had some on my own, I didn't feel the same pressure to have more than I wanted.
I binge eat occasionally when I'm feeling stressed.
I eat fast and shovel the grub for Scotland!. I never thought of it as being related to autism though. I do not like cold food....yuk! I had always related it to being at university where the house I 'shared' with other people had a very cold ground floor where the kitchen was. I would always eat in my room on the second floor and food would get cold quickly. I thought it was a habit related to that but now I have food for thought
Yes, I inhale food. I could've been a competitive eater in another life.
But the reason for this is that I can't stand the sound of other people eating and as a child I wanted to get away from the table as quickly as possible.
