Autism and Gender: Exploring the relationship

We are inviting autistic individuals between the ages of 13-17 and their parents/carers to participate in this research project. This project aims to develop our understanding of why some autistic young people feel very uncomfortable in their gender and experience distress. To do this we are asking people to complete a set of online questionnaires exploring emotions, how you feel about your body, how you feel about your gender, experiences of bullying, and your relationship with your parents/carers. While parents/carers will be asked to also complete a set of online questionnaires about how their young person responds to change and about autism. All information for this project will maintain confidential. As a thank you for your time given to helping this project we are offering every young person a £10 Amazon voucher upon completion of the questionnaires. For more information or to find out how to get involved please do not hesitate to get in touch with Katie Lindsay-Webb, the lead researcher on this project, via Katherine.lindsay-webb@kcl.ac.uk
