  • Hi tea,

Thats is so totaly unfair not to mention i think illegal! It smacks of being discrimination, your child needs to go to that school but cant get there alone when another child could so if transport is the only issue your child is being discriminated against as it sounds like she was accepted to the school. I would have to add at this point that I live in scotland so the rules here may be slightly different.

Please get advice from someone official as im just a mum on a rant! im so angry for you, be prepared to fight for the school you need as it is so important that children are in the right placement.

I have had to fight my needs with the LEA on occasion and have met with my local MP and threatened with the press, To be honest with you, I dont know that I would of carried through with that one, but they didnt know that! . The old saying about the squeeky door gets more attention is so true when it comes to schools. If they think you wont make a fuss they will walk over you.

If the school she goes to doesnt give your daughter the helps she needs then Keep a diary of the support she recieves and more importantly what she doesnt recieve, things that go wrong at the school and times when you feel she has been excluded from activities etc. Take it with you to review meetings etc as proof that the school is failing your daughter and it might help you get her moved school.

Hopefully this wont be necessary, sometimes help arrives and support and understanding are where we least expect it, your daughter could do very well in the school and you might find a dedicated member of staff there could be your lifeline.

    Best of luck
