Does anyone notice if their children’s stimming gets worse and more distressing for them during the school holidays? My Sons has a couple of times. Usually it’s calming for him

Hi, Im not sure but perhaps your child is stimming as they are out of their normal routine of the school day and the Christmas has taken them a bit out their comfort zone?
Do you have a schedule you keep to at home so they know what and when things are happening and have a routine they can keep to? They may also be stimming as they enjoy it.
Stimming is usually a response to stress, not the cause. The only situation I can imagine where stimming would cause stress is if an autistic person was desperate not to stim, for social reasons, but felt unable to stop. I imagine that social pressures are generally lower out of school than in it.
