HI

Hi my 13 year old daughter has just been diagnosed as having aspergers syndrome now we are told to go it alone. Please help its a minefield out there. She goes to a small school with only 30 children as she cannot cope with noise and crowds but when she melts down the head treats her as a nauhgty child. I feel like all i do is moan and groan as no one seems to want to help.

She has no friend. What can we do.

Please help

  • When I went down the statement route, I started the ball rolling by sending an email to the LEA (there is specific wording that you use relating to your right under a certain Act to get your child accessed).  Anyway, they then sent me a load of info on the process with deadlines.  You then send off your report plus Dr's report, school report .. basically as much info to support your case.  Then send the whole lot and await a decision.  The process can take a long time as you need to gather evidence and they may request an educational psychology report.

Let me know if you need to exact wording and I'll dig it out.
