Hi my 13 year old daughter has just been diagnosed as having aspergers syndrome now we are told to go it alone. Please help its a minefield out there. She goes to a small school with only 30 children as she cannot cope with noise and crowds but when she melts down the head treats her as a nauhgty child. I feel like all i do is moan and groan as no one seems to want to help.

She has no friend. What can we do.

  • Hi - welcome.  There's loads of info via the home pg + also on the posts, some with links, so if you havent have a good look around.  Also you should request a statement of educational needs so your daughter can get the support she needs at school.  There may be a support group in your area - you can find out via the home pg.  The lack of support can be shocking + we have to fight to get what we need for our children.  I presume you don't have a social worker allocated to you?  I know things seem so difficult right now, but you've done well to get the diagnosis. Ask any questions you want - people will try + help.  You're not alone on here.
