Diagnosis meaning

My son age six has recently received his assesment results. The report concluded he is on the threshold of ASC, he scores high enough on communication, sensory and obsessive behaviour. He has speech and language delay/difficulty’s which I knew and possible cognitive delays. The report said he made little eye contact and little relevant speech yet he does do those things a lot. What does this mean

  • Yeah like Martin says you know more now you're aware that he had difficulties and you can help support him with these now. Different times and settings and feelings will trigger your sons difficulties and reactions. At home with my sister I was happy, talkative and laughing but if mum came in the room I was silent, no laughter, no eye contact. Just one person or thing to make me feel uneasy and that's what happened.

Talk to your son, ask him how he felt and see if he'll open up to you. If he's like me then he'll want you to talk to him.
