Understanding

Hi

i need some guidance please.

my son randomly changes his pattern and it confuses me because it’s always just out of the blue.

for example like clockwork I put him to bed, he talks and plays for a while before drifting off.

yesterday  however he went to his room and wanted to climb to the top bunk and was very adamant.

most of the time I comply with his wishes as I do not fully understand what’s going on with him.

am I going about this in the wrong way by complying with him?

regards

  • I think it is a mistake to think that all autistics are resistant to change, all the time. Some of us enjoy change, every so often, especially when it is our own choice to change something. We are people, we have whims; if your son chooses to do things differently I would not discourage it.

  • Thank you for your reply.

I think you misunderstood me, I don’t think that.

I was trying to get an more in depth understanding about it, I always go along with my son whatever he wishes to do, I never refrain him.

I ask these questions not offend but to understand autism more better so I can give my son the best care there is.
