Thank you, he doesn’t to like the shower.  The only way seems to be if we can wash his hair with a jug and get his body wet at the same time. It’s just this happens once or twice a week, he used to bath almost every day. I guess he is getting clean, if he reality needs a wash he will have a strip wash. I just wanted to know that  it’s ok not to have baths or showers in the usual way. It seems like you can still get clean without them. 

My son has gone through phases regarding washing but sometimes prefers a shower or the shower attachment used, due to the feeling of pressure from the water. Not sure if that is an option?

Thanks for replying. I know changing clothes and bathing is a common issue with ASD. I will let my son stay in the same clothes rather than have a battle and have him upset all day. With washing we find if we don’t go on at him but just let him finish playing then tell him to come and have a wash , he is more likely to cooperate, He just likes to get it over with quickly now. Not so long ago he’d make his bathtime last as long as he could. Until the water went cold 

No advice, but my son is exactly the same. He won't shower and it takes ages to persuade him to get into the bath, we were down to one a week, but it got so fraught that we now take him swimming once a week instead as he will have a shower after swimming. Not sure it was the best thing to do but it has made things less fraught. Bedtime is the same, he'd never change his clothes if I didn't insist, and will often wear the same clothes all weekend as sometimes it's too much to have that battle.
