6 year old swearing

Any ideas to stop my 6 year old (nearly 7) swearing. Ive tried ignoring it but it’s just getting worse. I really struggle to put consequences into place as it always end in a meltdown. I know some people say they are just words and sometimes I let do just let it go. What do people suggest please?

I sat on the sofa with my child when she was going through swear words and I out swore her...she was so upset because I turned every swear word I to a silly song....she wanted me to shut up so much, I never heard her swear I'm front of me until she was in her twenties. There is an art to embarrassing your children. It's not for everyone but it was highly comical and worked for me. I wing it through life btw
