Transforming

My 6yo Grandson starts "transforming" himself like the cartoon characters whenever he is returned to his home. Whilst he is "transforming" he is completely unresponsive to any interaction at all. This can last for some time. Any thoughts or experiences that would help us understand what's happening?

Is this for all things? Or are you thinking of leaving your home and going to his parents? Or after school?. Or going out?

Generally autists find transitions hard.

It's certainly happening upon leaving ours and returning to his parents although I know it happens from school too.

It's classic with school, as Palstic says, to meltdown after holding it all in. Transitions with kids are classic periods when emotions and resistance comes out and an attempt to exert control. A veriety of thibgs could be happening. What goes on, and what's the impact and why are you concerned?
