Any Mums of Girls with Asperger's in Lancashire

Hi Everyone,

We would love to meet other girls with ASD. DD is 3.5 and has been diagnosed for 9 months, we've been hunting ever since for other girls and have really struggled. We're happy to travel and would love to meet others x

  • Hi Vicki, thanks for responding. How long did the diagnosis process take for you. We were first referred to the Consultant 14 months ago and only yesterday got him to actually say that our daughter was highly likely autistic and he referred us to the social communication disorder team. It sounds like now we have to go through another load of assessments until eventually they all sit down and agree a diagnosis. It frustrates me because the diagnosis doesn't help her its just a lable. What she needs is intervention now, not in a years time when we eventually decide she is definately autistic. it seems so obvious to us that she is clearly autistic that I can't see the point in needing several other professions to agree.

Hows your son doing now? if you on't mind me asking how did he present at 2.5 years old?
