Possible Autism

Hello,

I am looking for some advice. My daughter is showing some signs of a delay with speech, says around 50 words, cant ask for a drink etc. She is two years and three months. We have been to see a paediatrician who asked me some questions relating to my daughter and played with her. Said she has some communication difficulty. He has delayed the Autism assessment until she is 3 years old, however said intervention would be put in place to help her. I am on a waiting list for speech therapy but I don't know what other help is available, I have looked up ABA therapy and the cost is sky high. My daughter had a melt down at nursery as they played some music and the loud noise made her really unsettled. I don't know what to do to help her with her noise sensitivity issues. Does anyone have any experience of this and what did you do? Can you advise what help is available, I am a full time mum at the moment looking after my daughter and my husband works so we are not entitled to any benefits of any kind. Is there anything I can do to help her, books, training etc?

I feel a little lost as I am only beginning this journey. Would it be better to pay for a private assessment now or wait?

Thank you in advance to anyone who posts, your response will be very much appreciated.
