Hello!
I'm new on here so if I'm doing the wrong thing please tell me!
Basically I want to ask your opinion. I work as a Character Animator (15 years experience) and recently met a work experience lad with high-functioning autism while on a production in Glasgow. In our lunch breaks I ended up working with him on recognising body language, expression and emotion - not in a formal way but he had questions and I decided to address them by taking him through how an animator reads and reinterprets body language. We spent every lunch break doing this and he seemed to get a huge amount out of it, as did I.
My question to you is, do you think there would be much demand for using animators such as myself to assist in teaching body language, expression and emotion to autistic children and adults?
It is something I would be very keen on doing but am unsure how families and professionals might view it.
Thank you very much!
