More 'autistic' days than others?!

My 5 year old daughter has ASD, severe learning difficulties and epilepsy.

Over the past week she has been showing more and more autistic traits than normal - talking to herself, echolalia of tv programmes is constant, no empathy towards her brother, aggression, tantrums, whinging, head shaking and blinking.....

We haven't had particularly severe traits for a while now and I am wondering if other people's kids have 'more autistic' days sometimes? And if so what are the reasons behind it?

The only thing I can think it is is boredom from not being at school tbh.

Thx

  • Thanks - could well be diet, great thinking there, will look into that. Cos they are not at school their meals whilst always at the same time each day, have been a bit ad hoc depending on what I can find!

Plus today in particular we went somewhere quite noisy and it all got a bit much for her so maybe that triggered off the traits a bit more.

Thanks again and glad we are not the only ones who have off days!
