primay school one to one help

Hi im new to this but i have a 5 year old son who has autism , when i first applied for him to go into the mainsteam school he is in they said it was fine an they would help anyway they could . 6 months later we all had a meeting an was informed that they have applied for grant or help so he can have one to one and it was granted , however he is still not getting the one 2 one help he is about to go in to year 2 he has had some time off due to my dad having cancer then dying so they said they wont use the money until hes in school but when he is in school he comes out unchanged( toilet training is behind) and hes even come out with bruises and a bite on his neck . i dont want to send him into school anymore hes not my child when he comes out . how can i get him the help i want him into school but i just wish he had the help . This money has been available fo his one 2 one since jan 2010 .

  • hi thanks for replying . yes i was told they have recieved it but they dont "want to waste it " due to him having time off . ive been taken pictures of things such as his bite on his neck and i was thinking of starting to write down everything because to be honest when hes not in school hes talkin or at least trying as much as he can but when he leaves the school after a day there all i get is "go away" and he crys etc  thats not my son . i was going to move him but with the funding i was worried if he would get the help from another school .

we first found he had autism the summer he was 3 so just as he was about to start school. we have meetings every 6 months or so with a speach therispt, his teacher , consultent  someone from the child education an sen but last time i saw the lady from education was over a yea ago . i did recieve a letter from his consultent saying he had autism and the school took photocopy of it but i dont know if it was statment as such .

i also wished for him to be in a school more suitable for his needs but the consulent said try mainsteam first . i feel like im just banging my head against a wall  at one point i was going to take him out of school and home school him as hes learned soo much from being at home with me , his speach picked up etc .
