What are you all listening to at the moment?
You are right Ella Henderson does a really good version of that song. I hadn't heard it before.
An eclectic selection of 8 tracks I chose for my Desert Island Discs - I'm not actually going on the programme, just amusing myself!
Feed The Birds (from Mary Poppins)
Theme from Robinson Crusoe (1960s TV show)
Love Minus Zero No Limit - Bob Dylan
The Heart of Saturday Night - Tom Waits
Universal Child - Annie Lennox
Via Con Me - Paolo Conte
I Wonder - Rodriguez (Sugarman)
Theme from the Shipping Forecast (Radio 4)
I think I might be showing my age with some of these tracks.....
At the minute Im enjoying:
Manic Street Preacher - Generation Terroroist 20th Anniversary Boxset (3xCD, DVD + 10")
Porta Nigra - Fin De Seicle
Nothing at this precise moment, but when I do, it is usually...
I saw an old comment of yours about the old music notation. Years back I discovered this Dutch system for playing piano called Kalverskribo...it isn't so different from ye olde musical notation but its graphic quality is much more like a piano and you read it from top to bottom. As the script looks like a piano you can get started straight away. When I first bought it, the ad said that half of all piano music sold in the Netherlands was KS. The wikipedia page is OK but a bit basic. I got to a high level of playing pretty quickly using it. It's really not a gimmick. It probably helps with learning the old notation as well.
Back then it was cheap too. I would highly recommend it.
Over and out.
Cheers for the link to the synth Jon. I'll give that a bash.
Thats the first time I've seen build your own theramin kits available. I enjoy playing with electronics (even If I don't really know what I'm doing).
(I've not been on for a while, sorry the late response)
Hi! my favourite song is Do you believe in life after love by cher. I much prefer it being sung by Ella Henderson from the X factor though.
....listening to:
David Cain (Radiophonic Workshop)The Seasons (from the BBC Radio Schools Series 'Drama Workshop')
Ace and odd
Goatworshiper said:I like a fair bit of stuff that is actually just noise, with some minimum synth pads over the top. Or in some cases, feild recordings with effects. I used to enjoy using a kaos pad, and a sequencer but what I was making wasnt really sounding to good. Fun tho.
@Goatworshipper:
