Hi Rachmama
We saw the paediatrician in April last year, when they said they suspected HFA but did not want to diagnose him then. Some interventions were put in place and he was due to see the paediatrician again Oct/Nov time to see what progress if any had been made. We are still waiting for the follow up appointment, but he has made great improvements so we will have to wait and see what they say. He started school this January and it has been wonderful for him, he is lucky enough to be in a class where his teacher is also the SENCO for the school.
Whatever happens I can see my son has Autistic tendencies, and then some things that I think are not. I got myself into a real state when i found out but have made my peace with it now and have decided that whatever happens he is a happy little boy and nothing will change that - so we are just rolling with it and finding different ways of coping with things for him.
My other little boy is the complete opposite and it is so strange to see the differences in them coming out so clearly, when he is only two.
How are things with you? Is your son's school supportive? Are you now going through loads of red tape, since he has been diagnosed?
Best wishes
Vic
