awaiting diagnosis for Aspergers

HI, i'm Pete, 47 from Mansfield. i am currently awaiting funding to be seen by SAANS in sheffield for possible Aspergers, and need to have a medical for ESA on Wednesday, any advice as i am a bit nervous regarding being 'grilled' and i don't really know what to expect.

    Please ring the helpline and they will help you through and hopefully make suggestions. Go to the top of this page and under search you will see two options you can click on. click on the Helpline and other contacts and this will take you to the telephone number. I hate the phone, but these people know some of us hate phones.

    I had quite a few forms to complete. Two assessments on different days. The first one my mother came with me to go through my early years.  The second one I went on my own and 'played'. That was easy after sitting through what my mother shared with them which all helped the process but non too comfortble hearing it all. She went to a seperate session too by the way.  About a month later I had the diagnosis appointment which the consultant was there too. He asked me questions and I tried to supply answers.  I was given the diagnosis at that session. Mine was done via Wakefield but whether they use the same as Sheffield I don't know.
