Hi,
My son, 5, has been transferred to a special education needs school as his learning development issues are too severe for mainstream school.
My issue is the school transport that has been arranged for him, as the new school is over 2 miles away.
Even as i write this I know what i want to do, I just need confirmation that i'm not being overanxious :(
His school journey will start at 7.45am and he will get to school at 9.20am. It will be the same amount of time at the end of the day as well.
He's only five and he's starting a new school, he doesn;t understand where he'll be going, as i can't go with him on the transport, and he doesn;t know his new school, as theyve moved to a new site and he's only visited the old one once. I know he's not the best in the morning and if hes had a long tiring day at school, i'm anxious that he won't cope with the travelling.
I don't drive but i've already worked out a bus route and a plan to take him there and back in a taxi and then just get the bus back on the morning and there in the afternoon. At least then he'll be with me, i can take him into school, ihe knows i'm not just leaving him, etc.
Please tell me i'm not being stupid and wrapping him up in cotton wool.
Thank you xx
