Moved by Music

Hi,

Just posting about a new band I discovered a couple of weeks ago, I usually get obsessed about new music interests. I found there was a gig in the barbican hall in London, and went to that has been a stressful few months, so Today is the only day I have felt relaxed.

My music tastes are varied and can be weired, this band falls in to the wiered category, but it was an amazing performance last night. Ther are called A Winged Victory for the Sullen, style is ambien/neo classical, and have some great clips and videos on youtube:

Not everybody's cup of tea, I know, but posting incase there are a few who like it.

If you fancy seeing them live, theres is a gig in Leicester and one in Salford, just search google.

  • Sorry for not posting sooner, have had some personal problems which have consumed a lot of time. Thanks for all the replies, I was a Bowie fan and sadenned by his loss earlier this year, what a mark he has made in the world.

Thanks for mentioning Mogwai, I checked that out and like what I hear. I also like playing music loud, my main obsessive interest recently has been old hi-fi equipment which was out of my reach in 80s/90s. I managed to get some speakers I have been looking for years, proving to be a difficult journey to get them set up properly and running with the right amplifiers.

Now for something totally different, over the past few weeks I have really got obsessed with the following album:

    kishibashi.bandcamp.com/.../151a

There are links to full length samples on that page.

I didn't like it at first, took a few listening sessions to get in to it, but just cant stop playing it over and over now. has helped me get through a difficult few weeks. Not sure to categorise it, experimental, there are bits which are similar to Yes. My favourite track is "Beat the Bright out of me"

He did a tiny desk concert on you tube, very talented guy:
