Moved by Music

Hi,

Just posting about a new band I discovered a couple of weeks ago, I usually get obsessed about new music interests. I found there was a gig in the barbican hall in London, and went to that has been a stressful few months, so Today is the only day I have felt relaxed.

My music tastes are varied and can be weired, this band falls in to the wiered category, but it was an amazing performance last night. Ther are called A Winged Victory for the Sullen, style is ambien/neo classical, and have some great clips and videos on youtube:

Not everybody's cup of tea, I know, but posting incase there are a few who like it.

If you fancy seeing them live, theres is a gig in Leicester and one in Salford, just search google.

  • Talking about music, I wonder if anyone else has a liking for it turned up to 11?  I have big, good quality old fashioned speakers and amp and I sometimes (quite often) turn it up so far that I can feel every bass note through the floor, even when I'm in the kitchen. Atmosphere (Joy Division) is one I love to play really loud.  Plus most tracks on Sandinista (Clash).  It's good at present as I have no neighbours, so nobody to worry about upsetting.

I wonder about this because I've seen it written that peaople with AS often dislike loud noise. I hate even quiet noise if I'm trying to sleep, or if it is not in my control and being made inconsiderately. But loud noise per se, I can very much enjoy.

I only like loud music if the sound quality is very high. Live bands that are badly mixed are not worth listening to but if the sound is good, it can punch right through me and I'll be happy.
