Tropicana High Premium orange juice

Hi

My son who is 4/12 has recently strated drinking Tropicana pure orange juice High Premium. My son is ASD and possibly ADHD (can't have diagnosis till he is five for ADHD)

My question is:

Since my son recently started drinking the above juice he seem very hyperactive and has been very restless at night, now i am not saying it is the juice but i highly suspect it is. Can someone please tell me if Tropicana pur orange juice is ok for hyperactive children, or should i be avoiding this drink ?

Your replies would be most appreciated

Just checked the Tropicana website and it says no additives so I think this leaves two possibilities

    1) It's just the energy boost that is setting him off

    2) something in the orange itself may trigger something in him. He may be reacting to a chemical, e.g. the orange colour in an orange is natural but it is still a chemical that can cause a reaction.

There are sugar intolerances (lactose intolerance is a reaction to the sugar in milk) but I think this has intestinal effects rather than hyperactivity.

The fedup.com has a lot on how to identify and remove trigger foods for kids like this. In the end, if he reacts to something then find something that he doesn't react to.
