Hi C-L
Welcome to the forum, I hope you have worked out where the different things are on the website and how to use them. :-) You can go back and edit a previous post or subject line - as long as you are logged in!
Your post about your life story does sound very affected by autism - it is common for autistic people to be missed by professionals as we don't present with a standard uniform behaviour. It is also common for ASD people to be affected by depression.
One thing that stood out was the way that your test results spanned the spectrum from dummy to genius. This is a typical feature of ASD people. Typically we are terrible at the emotional perception skills but we can stand out in other areas. It is common for us to get a wide spread of results in GCSE subjects - very poor in some subjects but outstanding in others. Getting through school in one piece is also a challenge as this requires a certain amount of social skill which is often lacking.
Are you under the care of a mental health professional? If you are then you should show them the results of your test. Otherwise you may want a new referral from your GP so that you can be properly diagnosed. Your test score is significantly high enough to give a strong likelihood of autistic diagnosis.
I hope you find the forum as useful as I have found it in the year since I was diagnosed - I lived most of my life with a signiicant amount of conflict and confusion. Having a diagnosis helps me understand where I have been going wrong and also what my limits are.

Hi peaches8
Yes i have had problems since a far back as i remember. I had difficulty making friends, i was shy. I was picked on at school from the first day of nursery to the last day of secondary school. I was put in dummy classes even though I could read and write. I am very good at drawing animals. I have had many many jobs, 36, I've been sacked 13 times because of making the same mistakes over and over. I don't grasp things quick i need to repeat for a long time berfore the 'penny drops'. I have had 3 mental breakdowns since i was 24, the last one was just too much i could not go on, I needed to know what was wrong with me. I have had extensive tests lasting 4 months, also counseling and anti depressents.
I have had trouble with relationships, although i am very happily married now with a very loving and patient husband! I have a child, now 25 from first marriage at 19. Finally got told by my neurophyschologist that I am bordering dyslexia, and have frontal lobe damage which effects my short term memory and working memory. ' I just see the world differently to other people'. He cannot diagnose a specific condition, as my results were all the way up the scale from 'dummies' to 'genios' he has never seen such results, and my over all results were above average.
I don't really have the answers I am looking for. It is very hard to explain things to people. I say things as I see them, and always seem to have a different opinion. I take things people say the wrong way and when i try to be assertive I can sound rude, but don't mean it.
I have fallen out with every single neighbour i have ever had, and my husband is fed up and wants to move to where we have no neighbours at all! Suits me, I like my own company anyway. Cant fall out with anyone that way eh?
