  • Hello!

I am waiting assesment fro my 11 year old son.  My local GP saw my son for medical treatment to his foot and whislt we were in the room ... "Do you realise your son has Aspergers?" Erm No!!  I Just thought he was hyperactive!!  After looking up and reading about Aspergers I thought "Yes thats him!!"

All the forms filled in with a description of behaviour etc to CAHMS and yes they agree with the Dr so now we are just waiting (And waiting) for an assesment.

I am an avid learner so I took it upon myself to find out more information and enrolled on a Open University Course and I must say it is brilliant!  I have learnt alot more than I thought I would and I am flying through the assesments but I think that is beacuse its a subject close to my heart more so than something I have to study!

All I can say is read amd learn as much as you can!  Amazon have brilliant books but so does the library and the NAS website!!
