  • Our 16 year old daughter was diagnosed about 4 weeks ago and it was a shock but I did expect it. I think personally you need time to let it sink in. it also depends how far everyone is on the journey.

I have read lots and now I need to wait for my daughter and husband to start exploring ASD. Hopefully then it will facilitate discussion. Have any books been recommended as that might be a starting place?

The only thing we may need to facilitate quickly was around exams as my daughter experiences some sensory issues that effect her concentration and her link worker from Camhs is helping with this.

This website and forum is great place to start. Best wishes for this amazing journey. X
