Autism and ACL injury

My son is 21 and is serverly autistic, non verbal and hurt he's ACL after an accident on the trampoline a year ago and hasn't walked since. He now has a fear of walking again as he has physically fit from the injury so appears it's more of a psychological issue.

Any advice or help would be appreciated, we just need more ideas of things we can do. This may of happened to someone else before us ?

Please help !

  • We have some professionals involved but we are at a lose end. He has parrelle bars in he living room at home but will only walk along them on tip toes and will not let go. He will not stand with his feet flat on the floor but will do this when sitting a chair or pushing up into a chair or on to hes bed. He is physically able to walk so it's more of a psychological issue of having a fear of walking.
