Have you begun Christmas prep? (C*****mas for those who dislike this holiday)

[Please if you don't enjoy Christmas, do not respond to this thread - I want to keep it joyous for those who do!].

Anyone started preparing for Ch****mas? Last week I made mincemeat. This week is apricot chutney, and next caramalized onion chutney. One item a week works nicely, finishing on Ch****mas eve with sausage rolls. It's more manageable within the weekly budget I set myself and a nice tracker as the weeks go forward. How do you plan your eats? Any new ideas? What are your favourites for this holiday especially things you only make, or buy, at this time of year?

  • I’m going to try and make a bit of an effort this year, I’ve decided to get a real tree and go to a couple of Christmasy things, my wife enjoys the Christmas markets, we have discussed it and decided the large market in Plymouth may be a bit too much for me. I find the larger markets just sell Chinese tat or things that have nothing to do with Christmas. Our village is having a carol concert and there is normally a local Christmas tractor run, the tractors are covered in lights for charity.

Some of the coastal fishing villages have markets that sell local craft products or produce, we are planning to visit them, a particularly good market is a place called Fowey, pronounced Foy. I may even make my Christmas sausage rolls, always handy when busy.
