Have you begun Christmas prep? (C*****mas for those who dislike this holiday)

[Please if you don't enjoy Christmas, do not respond to this thread - I want to keep it joyous for those who do!].

Anyone started preparing for Ch****mas? Last week I made mincemeat. This week is apricot chutney, and next caramalized onion chutney. One item a week works nicely, finishing on Ch****mas eve with sausage rolls. It's more manageable within the weekly budget I set myself and a nice tracker as the weeks go forward. How do you plan your eats? Any new ideas? What are your favourites for this holiday especially things you only make, or buy, at this time of year?

  • I love Xmas and am spending it with my partners family in the Lake District this year.

As with all years, I’ve made a note on my phone of what needs doing and when.  Then set up corresponding calendar reminders each weekend to get those things done. As I don’t eat meat and am GF I need to fend for myself (eg: make Xmas cake, fig chutney, salmon gravlax, cranberry sauce, gravy, and a veggie main).

I’ve also made a list of key things to take with me to cope such as a book and its audio book equivalent, noise cancelling headphones, earplugs. I’m lucky that they know me pretty well so won’t be offended if I disappear to a quiet room for a break.
