Do us autistics see gender identity different?

So I identify as male as is my birth gender but I ditb adhere to gender stereotypes that for example certain music tastes are girlie or a ladies jumper or jeggings shouldn't be worn by men the way I see it if it suite my frame and I like. The design I'll wear it

Also make. Up I like how I feel. And look when I wear mascara(I go less supptlw on the lower lashes though) eyeliner eyeshadow foundation blush and bronzer

Is this why more autistic people are honest and open if they are trans?

  • Gender seems to matter less than when I was of working age. I was castigated for taking a 'man's job' - storekeeper/buyer in a large hospital engineering store. I was called, 'funny man' for wearing trousers - that was a lovely boy with cerebral palsy, sadly died very young, but it shows the stereotype. I preferred power tools [DIY] to 'feminine' home-making, and this was seen as, 'strange.' Going into pubs alone was a no-no, unless you sat in the 'snug' with female friends, as you risked being perceived a prostitute. A lot of people don't seem to know male-male relationships, for example, were commonplace among ancient civilisations.

As time moves on, hopefully it will matter less how you present, and the term, 'the sexes'  will gradually fade out in favour of 'individualism' - and no one has to justify their self-perception. This might take far longer in cultures where there is strong, 'religious' [sic] based fundamentalism, which prevents self expression of all kinds.
