??????

Good Evening all,

I had a mental health assessment today, when i was explaining everything thats been happening to me and what i do she mentioned autism.

I have been doing a little research and i have all the traits of this and have struggled for years!!

Can i just ask is the diagnosis of this (if it is?) A sort of way of coping with this or sort of acknowledging it and what help is out there? I feel so isolated and different to everyone all the time because of the way i am.

Thanks

  • This can be a really exciting time, but also an overwhelming one. To realise your possibly autistic is huge and brings up so many different feelings. I think the best thing you can do is to explore: read books written by autistic people, listen to podcasts, read articles and speak to other autistic people like you are on here. It's a chance to learn about yourself and understand why you may have struggled with certain things all your life. For many people getting a diagnosis feels validating and it also opens up potential supports. I wish you the best of luck on this journey.
