Is AI getting out of hand?

I don't know to be honest, its good for something's, and I've used it as a much better search engine than search engines, like when I wanted a new mattress, because it asks you questions and takes notice of me saying I don't want anything with latex as I'm horribly allergic to it, unlike google that just gave me loads of stuff wtih latex, it helped me find a comfortable matress at a very reasonable price.

But I'm finding it getting poorer just in the few months I've been using it, less likely to respond in a useful way and taking ages to do it. I don't do social media other than here, so my interactions with it are limited. 

I do worry that it's going to end up mirroring the internet with systems where you just get " computer says no" with even fewer ways of challenging it.
