The Breaking Up of the UK.

Apparently, the heads of various regional assemblies have expressed a shared desire for future independence from Westminster at some point. Is this truly a serious proposal or even a desirable one? And what would real independence actually look like?

  • From my perspective there’s already a Scottish Parliament with some devolved powers.  Most governments running Scotland have been Labour or SNP since it reconvened, so personally as an autistic and with these parties being a bit more sympathetic to people like me(not perfect I know) it seems like a positive.

For the record, I am in favour of independence and I don’t think the UK can work as a semi-federal state if each country does not have the option to leave.  I don’t like the direction the UK is heading with Brexit still a thing and it’s weird commitment to overseas historical relics like the Falklands.

To some people it’s a ‘breakup’ , but for some others it seems natural for a country to make it’s own choices, good or bad.
