Mute and Agrophobic

So I’m extremely lonely due to having selective mutism and being agrophobic. I have no friends or family. I don’t see a single soul. But I do have two dogs. I’m struggling to care for myself and I feel bad for my dogs. I’m spiralling but there is no help whatsoever. I’ve even gone to my MP as it’s a issue that needs addressing for others but they don’t have any answers.

I could do with human contact but I’m terrified of people.

You will find lots of human contact here, as much as you want: not only posting but reading other threads also replying when you feel like it. It's open 24/7/365 - always available.

Perhaps you could walk the dogs at night when there are fewer people - as long as it's safe. Many people have times when they need to isolate - a sort of personal retreat. Try to find some healing books, images, videos and TV, that might help you through this period. Children's books are great for this - I have a small collection, including The House at Pooh Corner and the Tao of Pooh, as well as easy read psychology. You might consider writing a Journal - good to look back on after recovery.

I think many MP's haven't experienced this kind of difficulty, so it's hard for them to understand it, so don't be too disheartened. Andy Burnham appears to understand, as does Angela Rayner, because they have more lived experienced than many middle class MP's [hope this doesn't offend anyone; I'm from a working class background and rarely felt understood by MPs, - strangely enough except Jacob Rees-Mogg!]. It's a start! See if you can figure out the problem from a broad perspective, think about potential solutions and which Minister might be able to help, then write to your MP again. Isolating yourself can lead to many new insights, beneficial not only for yourself but also benefit the wider community.
