I can't honestly comment too much as I haven't seen the movie.
However, I'm not sure about applying modern attitudes to movies that were made decades ago because I think the original naivety and charm could be lost. Perhaps having Coyote filing a lawsuit against the ACME company is taking it a bit too, But, as I said, I'm commenting about a movie I have never seen.
