Coyote vs ACME

Makes you wonder why Wile E Coyote didn't simply give up chasing the roadrunner and chase some other prey! I guess it was all about obsession and the way it can take hold.

So, it's actually quite satirical then?

I can't honestly comment too much as I haven't seen the movie.

However, I'm not sure about applying modern attitudes to movies that were made decades ago because I think the original naivety and charm could be lost. Perhaps having Coyote filing a lawsuit against the ACME company is taking it a bit too, But, as I said, I'm commenting about a movie I have never seen.

Well, I've seen it now. It was brilliant! One of the best films to come out this decade, I'd say! It was really cathartic!

It's also really interesting how many real world parallels there are to the practice of planned obsolescence used by big companies and how many have been taken to court over right to repair etc.

I also found myself relating HEAVILY to Wile E. Coyote as someone who's been left feeling bitter about being let down time and time again. The guy is like a crazed ball of bitter resentment and impatience in this film, and it's entertaining as hell.

I read up on it, as I remembered it being announced and then heard nothing about it. I didn't realise Weather Bros shelved the completed film for a 'tax break', but fans pushed for it to be released. So equally apt that the underdog took on the corporation to actually see his day in court so to speak.

I'm all for supporting the "little man" - I hope and reckon Coyote and Road Runner will need to team up for this one...

Not nessecarily. For example, when you detonate TNT, the TNT is supposed to explode, not the plunger lol. The film even makes a point that Wile E. Coyote follows the instructions to the letter, only for said product to malfunction and backfire catastrophically on him 

The film itself is a dig at how large corporations tend to cover their own backsides at the cost of consumers who have genuinely been wronged by them, as well as a fun deconstruction of the usual Looney Tunes tropes.

I wouldn't be surprised if this film is remembered as a classic 20 years from now

hmmm, that road runner is just too quick (and too smart) to be beaten in a race!  No win, no fee... doesn't bode well for Wile E Coyote based on the track record maybe :-)

Must've seen a Claims Direct Ad, while watching AtTheRaces.

My recollection was that it wasn't the ACME products but the way that Wile E Coyote used them that was the problem - that said I don't remember ever seeing them with any safe use instructions instructions or disclaimers so maybe they have a case!

It was actually cancelled for a while. I'm surprised they revived it!

There's actually a fair number of films that mix live action with animation, Who Framed Roger Rabbit being the most famous one. There's also Space Jam (and it's sequel), the Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers movie, you could also argue most modern films that use CG effects count as well
