Random thoughts

Im stroking one of my cats who is on my knee. My love for her is intense and the joy when she chooses to be close to me like this incredible. So Im thinking about her primarily 

My thoughts bounce around too much. In the space of 5 minutes I have thought about the fact I'm thirsty and need to go and make a drink, the difference between truly wild and feral horses, whether I could go abroad one day and see truly wild horses, the fact I need to do the dishes, the book that I've just finished reading and particularly the main character, the book that I'm currently reading the rights and wrongs of the characters so far, what I'm doing tomorrow, what I want to watch on TV next and the fact that I'm still thirsty and still need to go and make a drink. ADHD much?

I absolutely get how you feel but seeing you write it makes me wonder, why do we all see different as such a bad thing? I dislike standing out as different. But why do humans have this need to be alike? Why can't we just embrace differences? We'd surely all be a lot happier.

I'm sure people will be sad you feel this way. You make great contributions to threads and start interesting ones yourself. Maybe there are a lot more like you than you think - a great many individuals don't respond but do read the threads. Perhaps they feel the same way and admitting your vulnerabilities will help them.

That I really don't fit in here, that my autism expresses differently to most others peoples and that I stand out as different as much here as I do in the NT world

My neighbours cats don't appear to know the difference between indoor and outdoor. When I open the front door, one of them wanders through my bungalow and out the back and vv. I don't always see the black one and several times I've locked it in at night and then been surprised seeing it under one of my tables or by either door next morning. 

Cats will see off foxes, don't forget a fox or any dog will have to go in with its nose, the most sensitive part of it's body

One of my cats went missing for 26 hours. I found her in our garden at 3am. I was so worried about her.  We let her out for the first time, 3 days ago. She is a year old now and I let her explore. She was so overwhelmed with everything as all she knew was inside the house.She has a huge garden to play in.

I've ordered a collar for her that is reflective, has a bell and a pocket for an AirTag. Our road has bungalows and a lot of  speed bumps, so I  doubt she could get run over. I thought the foxes got her. I was so worried. She isn't allowed out at night. It's the night where they can get hurt and no one is around to help.

She is so sweet and affectionate. She's very spoilt and doesn't know about danger. 

I have three cats, so I figured if I let her out, she can follow the other two. She has chosen to stay indoors since she went missing. I suspect our neighbour had her in her house. She told me my cats like being in her bedroom. I'll know exactly where she is with the AirTag.

I don't use fb and never have, I think I have to think about what they mean and link them to whats written so much they lose any connection they might have had.

Different things. They are basically shorthand to convey something that might not be clear in the text I use a small number of them, most frequently one to clarify that I'm not being serious about something I've written. This one is also a favourite as it's someone screaming, like the famous painting by the Norwegian artist Edvard Munch. I don't understand or see the point in most face emojis, so I stick to the half dozen I do.

I got used to them over the years from Facebook.

What do emoji's mean and why?

I'm trying not to freak out about my forthcoming assessment on Friday. It's bad enough that I'll be an anxious wreck on the day itself.

Be proud now. After all, you are part of the autistic tribe.... Think of it as; you haven't yet found anyone measuring up to who you are. Cinnabar_wing  is right - there are many threads on this site. Try hanging around a few for a while and see what appeals to you. I hope you can see it Alien0n3arth! (for a second I thought it was past, but it's still to come). I don't know if it will be visible here, but the meteor shower has a better chance, and there is normally a wider window for seeing it and a better chance of at least one clear night!

I hope you do and wish you every luck with it Mae. It can take a while to find your people, but I hope you can. There are games threads too for chatting about ones you are playing. My kids like to watch people playing on youtube and it gives them ideas for things to try in their own games!

I got a skinner moth trap, it's like a box with flaps, and has a black light bulb, but for a while the original one didn't work and while I waited for a replacement, I used a standard 40w and still had results! 

I have a book to go with it to help identify what I find, it is quite exciting to be able to see all these little creatures that you wouldn't see otherwise!

I'm just wondering if I'll ever be able to get to the version of me I can be proud of. I don't have an answer yet. I hope I do. Sitting in my room all day on my own lowkey sucks when I have no one to play any games with

What do you use for your moth trap? I’d like to try seeing some different moths :) 

I'm excited for the solar eclipse and perseid meteor shower on 12.08. The solar eclipse will be partially visible for me (in germany) around 80-90 percent of the sun will be covered by the moon. It will be in the evening, 19:20 (GMT+1). I only hope for a clear sky. The full eclipse will be visible for Greenland,  Iceland, Portugal and Northern Spain. I hope the sky will be clear.
