STRAWBERRIES AND CREAM ANYONE?

The Telegraph is not a newspaper I usually read but this headline and image grabbed my attention in Apple News today.

The offering from Wimbledon looks rather unattractive. There are alternative planet friendly ways to present strawberries and cream, so it is bizarre to present the world famous Wimbledon Strawberries & Cream in this way.

I love strawberries and used to have them with cream. Nowadays I love them on their own or with Greek yoghurt.

Do you like strawberries and how do you like them served?

  • Less than 10 strawberries isn't something to complain about, really. 10 is A LOT of strawberries.

  • I didn’t want to paste the entire article in case it would break copyright rules.

The piece went on to say that the price of a serving of strawberries has increased by 5.6 per cent (since last year I think, it’s not clear), yet the reduction from ten strawberries to as low as seven berries equals a 51% increase per strawberry for those people who receive only seven berries.

I wasn’t thinking about the quantity of strawberries so much as how they looked lost in such a big carton, although I do agree that for many people seven strawberries is adequate.
