Advice book recommendations

My son is 9 with Aspergers, he is exceptionally clever but struggles socially. My husband and I are looking for a good book to help us to cope with how to deal with him. We have looked at so many books but none seem to really include what we need. Any help and advice gratefully received.

I don't think that you will find a single book for your son. He is a unique mixture of Asperger's and all of the other traits and features that make him an individual.

You will have to read a number of books that teach you about parenting a child on the spectrum, parenting a gifted child, parenting a boy, parenting a child of that age etc etc. you will then have a range of tools and techniques and you will have to work out what to do in each situation. You shouldn't find too much conflict between the advice given as they will tend to advise consistency, providing boundaries, advising on how to deal with the world that has lots of ambiguity and uncertainty.

have you looked at the range avaialble on Amazon for parenting a child on the spectrum?

This includes books for parenting Aspergers children.
