A long way for a hair cut

I saw this article about families travelling long distances to get their kids hair cut at a sensory friendly hair-saloon.

Wouldn't it be nice if there were more good autism-friendly hairdressers. Maybe I could get mine cut then!

  • Hello Cinnabar_wing.

As you say, hair dressers can be a bit of a hotbed for those with sensory needs  - I know for a fact, even as an adult, I try to avoid them where possible.

After doing a little bit of trawling, I noted that we do have reference to a sensory needs friendly hair care service in the London area - I wonder what other opportunities might be available elsewhere in the country, this could be worth a look.

All together, you’ve raised a very interesting point - finding suitable hair dressers can be an incredible chore.

    Thanks - Mod Zac.
