Books

Hello

I have recently been diagnosed as suffering from Asperger's Syndrome.  My therapist recommended I get involved with this website.  I would like to know if anybody out there could recommend an autobiographical book on the subject?  I am an adult male.

Thank you.

  • I recommend Freaks, Geeks and Asperger Syndrome, a user guide to Adolescence, by Luke Jackson. Although this book is targeted at a young audience, adults can still get a lot out of this book as I found out myself.  Luke writes a lot about his own personal experience of living with AS.

Life Behind Glass, A Personal Account of Autism Spectrum Disorder, written by Wendy Lawson, is a slim book that is a good read.

Temple Grandin's Thinking In Pictures is another good autobiography and is the most often cited book for people interested in ASD.
