Sensory joy

I have just returned from a walk round where I live, and it’s windy and quite bright, I’ve got my sunglasses on, but no headphones today. I just walked past this large hedge covered in dry brown leaves, and it made the most exquisite noise as I passed ( it was the wind rustling the leaves). I felt such joy hearing it so clearly, it really made my day. That’s it really.

  • The christmas before last, my daughter came home from the village christmas fair with a concrete meerkat doorstop (I did indulge her). I didn't know what she would do with such a heavy thing but it's still living happily on her desk with all her other clutter.

These things have a way of making a home for themselves in strange places.

P.S. I was just happily staring at your image a while after posting, it's very satisfying. It reminded me of a day when a snail crawled up the patio door, and my daughter jumped up from lunch and exclaimed 'Lionel', and started taking all these videos and photos and made a power point presentation of him on her school ipad. Snails are somewhat enigmatic aren't they.

  • I've still no idea what to do with him, he's currently sitting in my porch acting as a some sort of temporary hat rack.
