Sensory joy

I have just returned from a walk round where I live, and it’s windy and quite bright, I’ve got my sunglasses on, but no headphones today. I just walked past this large hedge covered in dry brown leaves, and it made the most exquisite noise as I passed ( it was the wind rustling the leaves). I felt such joy hearing it so clearly, it really made my day. That’s it really.

  • I'm away from home at the moment and we were out having a browse in Bakewell. There was this little store that sold soaps and candles, they had this raspberry scented soap (I love raspberries), my wife bought one. We also stopped in a small town on the way back and I almost bought a large cast iron snail, I've no where really to put it and it was £45 so I reluctantly didn't buy it. It was slightly rough and had a good heft to it.

  • If I see something I like it haunts me if I don't buy it. I wonder if you could make one - make a clay snail then a mould. Perhaps you could get it cast at a studio. It would be a fun thing to do.
